6 Months

6 MONTHS

 

It's hard to believe it's been 1/2 a year since our little guy entered the world!  A lot has happend since his 5 month update.  He weighed in at 20lbs 6ozs (89%) and measured 28.5 inches long (96%) at his 6 month checkup. He can sit up for extended periods of time on his own.  He is still only rolling over from back to stomach.

 

He got his first two teeth the weekend of October 6th.  Not sure the actual day.  I had sister's weekend in Des Moines and Mark took Elliott back to Odebolt to help his parent's finish harvest. When I returned to Odebolt on Sunday night I noticed the teeth and the conversation went something like this...   

Angie - "Oh my gosh, he has teeth."

Mark - "What? When did that happen."

Angie - "I'm not sure. You tell me.  You are the one that spent the last 3 days with him."

He got a third tooth 3 days later!

6am wakeup...I swear Elliott knows it's weekend because he sleeps in until 6:45-7ish on Saturday and Sunday. How considerate of him :)

6:30 - 6oz bottle

8:30 - 6 oz bottle

9:00 - 10:00 nap 1

11:30 - oatmeal/veggies

12:00 - 6 ozs

12:30 - 2:00 nap 2

3:00 - 6 ozs

4:30 - nap 3

6:00 - oatmeal/veggies

6:30 - 6 ozs and down for the night

Mark and I have lived in Kansas City for over 4 years now and really haven't taken advantage of the wonderful things a big city has to offer.  We've been to a handful of Royals games, only 1 Chiefs game and a few concerts.  But lets be honest, the sports teams in this town usually have a bigger number in the loss column than the win column which makes it a little hard to be enthusiastic about following them. 

 

Our daycare lady told us several times that we should visit the arboretum and we finally got around to going this weekend.  Wow!! Even after the dry summer the garden was absolutely gorgeous!

 

 

 

  



5 Months

5 MONTHS

 

Elliott was 5 months old on Friday, September 14th which was also Daddy's birthday.  I probably sound like a broken record but I can't believe how time has flown by.  Elliott is so attentitive and seems very eager to learn.  He will find the most uninteresting thing in the room and stare at it like he's trying to figure out its existince.  Monique is constantly introducing new toys and games and Elliott seems to like all of them.  He is a pretty easy going baby now, quite opposite of the earlier weeks. He will spend 30 minutes in a jumperoo or playing with a basket of toys before you remember that you have a baby in the room! 

 

Schedule

6-6:45 wake up

6:30 - 5 ozs

8:30 - 4 ozs

9:00 - 10:30ish nap (usually naps much longer at home then at daycare, 90 minutes vs. 45 minutes)

11:00 - rice cereal, avocado or sweet potatoes

12:00 - 6 ozs

12:30 - 2ish nap (again, usually much short at daycare)

2:30 - 4 ozs

4:30 - 4 ozs

3rd nap varies widely depending on how he slept the fist two naps, usually only 30 minutes long

6:00 - rice cereal

6:30 - 6 ozs

7:00 bed time and sleeps through the night

Fun Weekend

Fun Weekend at Home

 

We got to stay home all weekend and Mark only had to work a couple hours on Saturday so we took full advantage of playing together as a family!  Elliott is so much fun and his personality is forming and showing every day!
