First Haircut

We gave Elliott his first haircut last weekend, and it was probably several months too late!  I knew it was time when someone at Whole Foods called him a she!  I can't believe how old he looks now!  Where has our baby gone?!?

Before

After

I had to add this picture because I thought it was absolutely adorable.  Elliott hates being confined to the seat in the carts so we had to improvise!

ELLIOTT'S FIRST BIRTHDAY

ONE YEAR OLD

Wow! Where has the time gone?  A year ago we added Elliott James Currie to our family and it's been an amazing ride.  It's been so much fun to watch him grow up and form his own little personality.

He is really starting to comprehend some things...like bed time! :)  We now have to "ask" Elliott if he's ready for bed by pointing to the crib and saying "Elliott, are you ready for night night?" Often times we get a whimper back, but occasionally we get a slight grin, a reach towards the crib and a response of "nigh nigh."

We dropped the bottle about 2 weeks before he turned one and we had absolutely no issues...thank goodness!  He started using a sippy cup at meal times around 9 month, but never really liked them.  He can't get enough of his sippy now!  You ask him in the morning if he wants milk and he smiles and laughs the whole way down the stairs to the kitchen.

He is quite the socialite!  I brought him to a work picnic and he stole the show.  He grins and smiles at anyone who glances his way.  Thankfully he's pretty good with letting anyone hold him because everyone wanted to pick him up and squeeze him.

We had a Mickey Mouse themed birthday party and he loved it! A lot of family and friends helped Elliott celebrate at a nearby park.  He got a bunch of toys and enough clothes get us through the summer, I think!  He sure is loved!  He didn't dig into the cake like we had expected, but I think he enjoyed it.  I'm not sure he actually got to the cake? It looked like all frosting to me! :)

Mark and I can't wait for what the next years bring!

Easter

Easter

Elliott must have been super excited about Easter, because he woke at 5:50 for a bottle and didn't want to go back to sleep!  So we reluctantly woke up and went to the 7am Easter service.  We took advantage of the 70 degree weather and went to the park later in the afternoon.  Elliott had so much fun!  He LOVES being outside!

Playing with the bubble machine and Easter eggs Grandma Linda and Grandpa Jeff sent!

He loves to reach out for your hand when you walk next to him in the stroller....so cute

Looks like he'll be hands up roller coaster rider :)

Weeee

11 Months

11 Months

Wow, only a couple more weeks and our lil guy will be a year old.  Elliott is constantly on the go.  The only time he sits still is to maybe catch a glimpse of Mickey Mouse on TV.  He has become quite aggresive with his play so we've had to work on being "gentle," especially when he is around baby Jonah at daycare.  He loves to throw everything.  I suppose that's Mom and Dad's fault for showing him how to throw a ball so early on. He got an early birthday present from Uncle Steve and Aunt Chelsey...a little tikes basketball hoop. It did not take him long to figure out what to do with it.  He LOVES it!

Schedule:
5:30 - wake for bottle and fall back asleep
7:10 - Mom wakes him up to take him to Moniques
8:00 - breakfast
9:00 - 10:00 nap (usually 9:30-11:00 at home)
11:00 - lunch
1:00 - bottle
1:00 - 2:00 nap (usually 1:30 - 3:30ish at home)
3:00 - snack
5:30 - dinner
7:00 - bottle and down for the night

Favorite Things:
Playing basketball (I wish I could post a video but I can't get it to work)
Walking behind the wagon
Throwing...anything
Wrestling on the bed with Dad

Elliott Meet Ean

Elliott Meet Ean
My sister posted these pictures on her blog and I had to share!  So the first meeting didn't go so well!

UPDATE: I should clarify....Ean is my cousin Lisa's little boy.  He's such a happy baby, and so is Elliott.  Ean was taking a nap when he arrived at K'Lyn's and awoke to a room full of people he didn't know, and I think he was a little hungry so naturally he got a little fussy.  Well, Elliott couldn't stand the fact that Ean was not happy so he started crying, too. The whole night they just kept setting each other off. Lisa even brought Ean into Addison's bedroom to feed him and they were even talking/crying to each other in other rooms!  We were all laughing so hard!
Ean - "Hi Elliott, my name is Ean."
Elliott - "Waaaah...quit touching me"

Ean & Elliott - "Waaaah..."

Ean - "Ok....enough laughing at us guys!  Get me out of here!"
Elliott - "Waaaah..."

10 MONTHS

10 MONTHS

Elliott celebrated 10 months on Valentine's Day!  He is still a VERY good baby, but is certainly creating a mind of his own.  I am surprised at how good his communication skills are already.  He's pretty easy to read, especially when he doesn't get something he wants! He's quite the chatter box.  It's usually just grunting, oooo's and ahhhh's, and occasionally momomomom and dadadada.  He is definitely on the go all the time, but I'm still amazed at his ability to focus on something as if he's trying to figure out it's existence.  When we put up the gate he studied it forever to figure out how to get around it.  I think we are raising another engineer in the family!

Favorites:
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (He grins from ear to ear whenever he sees it on tv or hears the song)
Opening and closing doors (He has figured out how to open the sliding glass door at Monique's if it's a little ajar)
Feeding himself (he's a carb lover like his mommy)
Rolling around on the bed with Dad

Schedule:
5:30am - wake for 5 oz bottle and fall back asleep
7am - wake for the day
8am - breakfast
9:30 - 10:30 - nap

1:00 - 5 oz bottle
1:30 -2:30 nap
