I sent the above picture to my twin sister, Abby and she jokingly replied "That picture pretty much confirms that it may be impossible for me to have kids." I laughed because for those of you that know my sister, she is extremely clean and organized. I certainly have that gene, too! I'm sure I annoy Mark when I'm constantly nagging him to pick up his clothes on the floor or put away his razor and toothbrush. As I look through pictures of Elliott, I realize how many I have of him making a mess. And for some reason I'm ok with it! I guess all the fun Mark and I have with Elliott and watching him grow has helped me learn to let go a little bit of my OCD behavior.
I AGREE! Well, I must admit I lost quite a bit of my OCD tendencies somewhere along the way in optometry school, as time wouldn't allow to be that stressed about everything. However, I never thought I would be okay with my child getting everything out of a cupboard! Now I just go through the thought process of "what is in that cupboard...nothing that can hurt him...hopefully it keeps him entertained for 15 min or more"!
